Labor Day Weekend September 3-5 and September 10-11
Noon to 6pm
Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit began in 1931 when then-fledgling Greenwich Village artist Jackson Pollack, in desperate financial straits, took a few of his (now) iconoclastic paintings and set them up on the sidewalk near Washington Square Park. His friend and fellow artist, William Dekooning, being in a similar predicament, soon joined his friend. Thus began the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit. Today there are over 120 exhibitors representing Fine Art, Photography, Crafts and Sculpture.
University Place, starting at East 13th Street and continuing south along Washington Square Park. http://wsoae.org
