Through October 30th
Throughout the course of history scarecrows have been the iconic standard of guardians of gardens. Sculptor Ray Villafane returns to the NY Botanical Gardens to create an original installation that explores the evolution of the scarecrow in the U.S. From its classic role in agriculture to its status as a cultural icon in films and comic books, the exhibition features vignettes crafted from natural materials, in swamp and march settings in the Garden’s landscape.
