Robert Ryman is an American painter identified with movements of monochrome painting, minimalism and conceptual art. He is best known for abstract, white on white paintings. This is his first major solo show in New York City since 1993, when the Museum of Modern Art held a traveling retrospective. The show will survey six decades of paintings.
