The views are grand, the architecture sublime and the address is most coveted. On any given day, nestled in the tree tops on a bucolic block of East 83rd Street, you’ll find a wide variety of 22 colorful birdhouses scattered amongst the blooming branches. Lovingly crafted from driftwood collected at local beaches and painstakingly placed well after bedtime, the “anonymous” creator of this project is a local resident who simply wants to pay homage to both the people and winged critters, past and present who make this patch of earth between York and East End avenues just a tad more special.
