Breathe in, breathe out…OMMMMMMMMM.
I am standing precariously on my head, pondering the mysteries of life. My mind is in overdrive and too preoccupied for this morning’s yoga class. The splendor of spring is everywhere and I have so much to do and see: Maybe I’ll head over to that West Broadway coffee shop after class. Should I finally splurge on those to-die-for strappy sandals I spied in the front window at Barney’s? What about that exhibition at the Whitney? Mother’s Day brunch at the Boathouse or River Cafe? Fleet Week is coming up. Note to self … firm up plans for Memorial Day.
Focus, focus! I need to get out of my head and reclaim my practice. Ok, better. I eventually return to downward dog and tune back into my inner yogi. Breathe in, breathe out…
While this great city that we call “home” can oft times take your breath away with it’s unique magnificence, it can ALSO sometimes suck the very life out of you. Take a moment every now and then to step outside of your own “snow globe”, shake it up and check life out from a different perspective. Whether that means standing on your head or simply adjusting your gaze ever so slightly, you just might discover the world in a whole new light. Inhale and just breathe.
OM, shanti…Namaste!
