Doors slam, floorboards creek, voices call into the dead of night. Venture into the dark shadows of history by flickering candlelight to see the house where eight family members died ( and The New York Times called “Manhattans Most Haunted”) and hear true tales of inexplicable occurrences from people who actually experienced them. This all takes place at The Merchant House Museum, considered to be one of the finest surviving examples of domestic architecture from the period, the 1832 late-federal and Greek Revival Merchant’s house is a designated New York City landmark. It was the home of the Tredwells, a wealthy merchant-class family who lived in the house from 1835-1933.
