I could spend hours being submerged in this magical, mystical place! The Argosy Book Store, founded in 1925, is New York City’s oldest independent bookstore. Located at 116 East 59th Street in midtown Manhattan, it occupies an entire six-story townhouse with various sales floors specializing in first editions, Americana, leather bindings, antique maps, prints, and autographs. This store, also noted for a wide selection of bargain books, has it’s own framing and shipping department.

Irish cuisine has so much variety to offer – not just corned beef! Chef Sarah Chaminade will show you some traditional Irish recipes, then a few more with a twist. Whether they’re classics or updated versions of the classics, these dishes will impress at any St. Patrick’s Day gathering and far beyond. Spain’s finest dancers and singers come to City Center for a celebration of Flamenco that is stirringly authentic while challenging the conventions of the form. Flamenco Festival 2016 begins with flamenco superstar Farruquito’s Improvisao, an ever- changing evening that uses live singers and guitarist to capture the spontaneity of a real flamenco “happening”.

Opening on March 18th, The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s modern and contemporary art program is expanding to include a new series of exhibitions, performances, artist commissions, residencies and educational initiatives in the Breuer building (formerly the Whitney Museum) on Madison and 75th Street. To celebrate the opening of The Met Breuer there will be three days of special programs at all three of The Met’s locations.

For the ninth consecutive year, Glucksman Ireland House NYU, and the Basilica of Saint Patrick’s Old Cathedral will celebrate an Irish-language Mass. After the Holy Mass, there will be a party held with Traditional Irish music performed live. There will be Irish Step Dancing by the students of the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance, Irish Soda Bread, food and drink available. There is no charge to attend, all welcome.

Looking out the window of a friends apartment at a spectacular view of the Empire State Building shining bright in purple and yellow I wondered, what do all the changing color’s signify? Did you know that since 1976 the Empire State Building’s tower lights have maintained a tradition of changing color to recognize various occasions and organizations throughout the year. In 2012 a new computer driven LED light system was installed capable of displaying 16 million colors, which can change instantaneously.

Since the publication of Don’t Let the Pigeons Drive the Bus! in 2003, Willems has amassed an impressive list of New York Times best-selling adventures that have garnered him three Caldecott Honors and a spot in the Picture Book Hall of Fame. Previous to his publishing career, Willems won six Emmy Awards for his writing on PBS’s Sesame Street. The Art and Whimsy of Mo Willems exhibition brings together original art, sketches and inspirational drawings from Willem’s most popular series.

Heading to a Ranger game or missed your train to Long Island? Check out The Pennsy, New York’s newest food hall located at 2 Penn Plaza (corner of 33rd St. and 7th Ave.), has just opened. The 8,000 sq. foot space features stalls from a handful of big name chefs. Mario Batali and Mary Giuliani put together a menu of Italian pressed sandwiches and seasonal soups at their stall Mario By Mary. Franklin Becker’s The Little Beet is offering gluten- free bowls, rolls and lunch boxes. Pat LaFrieda is selling steak sandwiches and meatball subs and the Cinnamon Snail is offering veggie burgers and barbecue sandwiches. The Pennsy also has a full bar open till 11 pm.
